No-one should be hungry for the holidays

Note to readers: I published this in 2022. But every word still rings true in 2023, so I'm updating and renewing my request for this year. I know that you, like me, are probably BURIED in Giving Tuesday requests. There's so much need. Please just consider that even $5 makes a difference. Thanks and bless you all.
===================
Every holiday season we become more mindful (and hopefully grateful) for our blessings. The last few years have been tough on all of us. And, sadly, for those less fortunate, recent years have been even harder.
We are all inundated with donation requests. It's hard to say "no"...and I'm counting on that being even more true this year, because families in Western NY need your help. I'm asking you to say "yes" to support Operation Food Basket--now in its 43rd year--ensuring that the poorest families in Rochester and Monroe County receive a week or more of healthy food and household necessities just before the holidays.
Rochester is one of the poorest cities in the country. Thousands suffer from poverty and hunger, and their fragile situation is compounded by the continuing pandemic. That’s why our long-running campaign is so important this year.

Our goal this year is $45,000 to feed 1,800 people (1,200 of which are children). A donation of $100 will feed a family of four for a week. All you have to do is visit our website — https://www.operationfoodbasket.com...click on the “donate” button…and follow the simple instructions.?And while you're there, please take a look at some of our amazing sponsors who, together with awesome volunteers and generous people like you, make this small (but important) miracle happen for families in the Greater Rochester area each holiday season.
I thank you in advance for your support of our efforts. With your help, and thanks to support from amazing organizations, we will provide healthy holiday meals to 1,800 people suffering from hunger, poverty and a pandemic that makes their already difficult lives harder than ever.
