Another amazing day when pharmacy stood together, united. Our overwhelming ballot results dominated the national media headlines yesterday – with coverage on all the main TV and radio news programmes, as well as coverage across online and print outlets.
It was a big day for the NPA and a big day for community pharmacy.
In total, we got around 1,250?mentions of the NPA yesterday in the press, of which 255?were in the national media Ashley Cohen, our Board Member, appearing on BBC Breakfast and the BBC News site?as well as mentions on the Today programme.
Olivier our Vice-Chair appeared live on Sky News, BBC Radio Five Live?and?ITV's lunchtime news.
nick kaye our Chair spoke to LBC Radio, Time Radio, GB News and?BBC News Channel?and Paul spoke to Channel 5 News along with Patricia Ojo as well the BBC. The Mirror, Sky News Online, Daily Mail, Guardian, Telegraph, iNews,?ITV News Online?as well as in lots of local titles (including in Wales).
We’re now waiting for government to respond to our calls for a better deal in England and to our calls for reform of the underfunded drugs tariff in Wales and Northern Ireland. The ball’s in their court. If they don’t support our network and our patients, we’ll be forced to recommend you act on the ballot and consider taking action in January.

3 个月Hmm. I've mixed sentiments. On the one hand, a family member needed two emergency Rx's [Amox & pred] after 8.30pm on a recent Sunday evening ?? On the other hand, community pharmacy has been in a precarious financial situation since 2016/17 ?? ?? So I urge NPA members to consider patients first; then renegotiate for a fairer contract with the Department of Health and Social Care. Stat! ??
