NKBA's Industry Night: Bridging the Gap Between Students and the Kitchen & Bath Industry

In a bid to foster closer ties between aspiring professionals and the kitchen and bath industry, the NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) recently hosted an enlightening event. Held on September 11, the first of two "Students of the Industry Night" events for this year invited college students, professors, and chapter officers to the NKBA headquarters in Bethlehem, PA. The event aimed to introduce students to the benefits of NKBA student membership, learning initiatives, and the wealth of opportunities available within the industry.

Kelly Ann Ryan, NKBA Learning Programs Manager, opened the event by providing an overview of NKBA and its status as a leading trade association for the kitchen and bath industry, highlighting the sponsorship by Sub-Zero Group, Inc. that allows students to join for free. She emphasized the value of participation in the Student Design Competition, sponsored by Fisher & Paykel, as a means to elevate students' profiles and the long-term benefits of NKBA membership even after graduation.

Lindsay Franco, Senior Manager of NKBA's Learning Department, delved into essential initiatives, including NKBA Badges, Certifications, and Continuing Education opportunities, all crucial for students seeking to maintain Certifications and Badges while earning CEUs.

The evening culminated in networking sessions where students had the chance to connect with industry professionals, business owners, and Chapter officers. This event not only facilitated knowledge sharing but also left a positive impression on industry leaders regarding the future of the design industry, as expressed by Brianna Weiler, Mid Atlantic Chapter President.
