Nitor Infotech's August Tech Bulletin
The Big Picture?
Hello, folks!?
In this second edition of our tech bulletin, we’re taking you on cloud nine! In tech talk, that naturally means a trip into the cloud computing realm.?
But before we set off, we’d like to share something interesting we read about how healthcare is evolving and stepping into the metaverse to up its game! Some stellar implementations of tech in medicine have been telemedicine and AI-based modeling for creating COVID vaccines. Now, increases in patient ease and accessibility don’t seem far off thanks to the entry of the metaverse - through an amalgamation of augmented reality, virtual reality, and AI, along with intelligent cloud and quantum computing!?
Now you’ve possibly heard of a digital twin - a virtual simulation that harnesses real-time data to come up with more information about its real-world counterpart. Well, in the healthcare world, this simulation will be based on the human body via excellent analysis of how the body responds to various activities and medications. You can imagine how it can be a solution to a lot of health problems and fears.??
Speaking of the cloud as a contributor in this tech highlight, let’s zoom in on our theme for this month – cloud computing!?
?The Future with Cloud?
It probably wouldn’t surprise you to know that more than 80% of large corporations are using cloud computing. What’s more, this number will rise to more than 90% by 2024. The moral of the story: it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the cloud has encompassed business technology!?
Here are four key trends we need to watch out for amidst the ‘cloud(s)’ on the horizon:?
Hybrid and multi-cloud strategies – Put simply, these have the potential to rule the roost. Hybrid or multi-cloud translates into stellar security features, SaaS capabilities, great server reliability, customizable capabilities, as well as excellent performance. It’s worth mentioning that multi-cloud trends for next year will focus more on sustained growth, initiatives to control costs, security as well as pairing applications and cloud services.?
The rise of IoT platforms - Before we say more on this, here’s the first edition of our tech bulletin – it is replete with all you need to know about IoT! Now coming to an IoT platform - this is a cloud-enabling platform that operates with standard devices to make sure cloud-based applications and services work on it. Just intelligent connectivity at its best – what's not to appreciate, right??

Data storage capacities – Cost-effectiveness, scalability, and business continuity are just a few of the advantages of storing data on the cloud. While musing about the future, you might have heard of edge computing (which is all about shifting cloud drives to the edge of the network rather than in faraway cloud space) that enables real-time response. Interestingly, storing data on edge platforms will cut costs, as a business will have to pay just for the data that is downloaded and analyzed.?
Perpetuation of innovation – Cloud is known to support automation that drives innovation. Take low-code and no-code applications for instance. Cloud combines with tools like these to help more people come up with a greater range of digital services!?
All in all, cloud computing is appreciated far and wide for its mobility, reduced risks, and availability. So, it would be fair to say that businesses on the path of growth need to ready themselves to embrace the future with cutting-edge developments in cloud tech!?
?The World in Numbers?
Take a look at this brief history of cloud computing:?
As you can see, the 1990s saw the rise of the use of virtual computers, which fuelled the creation of the modern cloud computing infrastructure. Fast forwarding to 2010, some companies like AWS and Microsoft had developed private clouds that were functional to a large extent. IBM jumped on the bandwagon the following year, and the Worldwide Public Cloud Services Market totalled £78bn two years later. The global cloud spending was estimated to be an impressive £103.8bn in 2014.?
That figure is climbing steadily as the cloud continues to be a favorite.?
