Nitin Gadkari inaugurates country's tallest national flag at Attari-Wagah border in Punjab's Amritsar
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently inaugurated the tallest national flag in India, standing at an impressive height of 418 feet. The flag is proudly positioned at the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab's Amritsar district, and this historic event was graced by the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Just last month, on September 21, the Poonch Brigade of the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Flag Foundation of India, unveiled a 72-feet-high national flag at the Ajote War Memorial in Poonch. This gesture paid tribute to the heroic individuals from the district who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
The design of the #National #Flag is rich in symbolism, with a saffron (kesaria) top band representing the country's strength and courage, a white middle band symbolizing peace and truth along with the Dharma Chakra, and a green lower band signifying the fertility, growth, and auspiciousness of the land. At its center lies a navy-blue wheel, reminiscent of the one found on the abacus of the Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka, featuring 24 spokes.
This remarkable design was officially adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on July 22, 1947, and serves as a #powerful emblem of our nation's values and aspirations.
