#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
Our soul is divine and will always remain divine. Divinity is said in the context of Peace, purity, happiness, bliss, love, knowledge and power which is eternally present within the soul. Sometimes due to body conscious we feel our divine nature is getting lost and instead anger, lust, greed, attachment and ego arises. It because due to the shifting from soul conscious to body conscious. So if you want to be get divine then imbibe these positive virtues from divine knowledge and Raj yoga meditation taught by the God himself at the end of Iron age to recharge the soul battery again.
When you come into creation, you are given a piece of the creator. It allows us to experience life. Without it there would be no experience of life. The experience of this is called Self-Realization. I experienced it at the age of 41 and I am 64 now. Ever since this event took place in my life I have searched for answers. The best one I have come across is the experience of Swami Vivekananda’s sharing. "This is what I mean by meditation – the soul trying to stand upon itself, when it is thinking of itself, residing in its own glory.”– Swami Vivekananda
"One day in the Cossipore garden, I had expressed my prayer to Shri Ramakrishna with great earnestness. Then in the evening, at the hour of meditation, I lost the consciousness of the body, and felt that it was absolutely non – existent". "I felt that the sun, moon, space, time, ether, and all had been reduced to a homogeneous mass and then melted far away into the unknown; the body-consciousness had almost vanished, and I had nearly merged in the Supreme. But I had just a trace of the feeling of Ego, so I could again return to the world of relativity from the Samadhi."
"In this state of Samadhi all the difference between “I” and the “Brahman” (God, the Absolute Divine Consciousness) goes away, everything is reduced into unity, like the waters of the Infinite Ocean — water everywhere, nothing else exists — language and thought, all fail there. Then only is the state “beyond mind and speech” realised in its actuality. Otherwise, so long as the religious aspirant thinks or says, “I am the Brahman”–“I” and “the Brahman”, these two entities persist — there is the involved semblance of duality."
"After that experience, even after trying repeatedly, I failed to bring back the state of Samadhi. On informing Shri Ramakrishna about it, he said, “If you remain day and night in that state, the work of the Divine Mother will not be accomplished; therefore you won’t be able to induce that state again; when your work is finished, it will come again.”
"The highest spiritual experiences can only be known in that state of consciousness which in Sanskrit is called Samadhi. Samadhi is a state quite other than that of waking, dreaming or dreamless sleep; it has been described as super-consciousness. In Samadhi, a man knows his absolute identity with the Atman (Soul), which is his real nature." "Samadhi goes beyond all sense-experiences.
It is in its highest form a state of total knowledge, in which the knower and the thing known become one. This is Nirvikalpa Samadhi. The so-called lower Samadhi, Savikalpa, is that in which the sense of duality is not yet quite lost; knower and known are still separated, but only, as it were, by a thin pane of glass. The mystic who has reached the lower Samadhi is almost certain to be able to pass on to the higher, if he desires it."
The individual soul is divine when it is uncontaminated by the trigunas, just as a diamond, a pearl or a piece of gold is pure unless it is lying in a dirty place. Consciousness is the symptom of the jiva soul and when it identifies as a spark of the Supreme Soul, that is an indication of its being pure, or divine, either identifying itself as qualitatively almost identical with the Supreme, or higher than that, as his servant.
Unfortunately in India there are thousands of false gurus, swamis, yogis etc. who claim that the jiva is one with the Supreme in all ways. This is contradictory to the teaching of the Vedic literature, which say that the jiva soul is never the Supreme. Unfortunately, because there is no proper religious government in the world the present Age of Kali, such claims remain unchallenged, condemning the soul to possibly millions of repeated births and deaths in this material world. The very fact that the questioner has used the capitalised form of the word divine in reference to the soul is an indication of the effect of the false gurus’ so-called preaching's.
The truth is contained in such literatures as the Bhagavad Gita As It Is, but because of the numerical power of the bogus preachers, and their influence over periods of hundreds or thousands of years, it is not to be taken as a small, simple or straightforward thing to understand. Still, one should try reading this book - and others by bona-fide acharyas such as the author of this Gita edition, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada. Jay Shri Krishna
