I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rama Mohan Rao, Vice-Chairman of APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education), Dr. G.V.R. Ramana, Rector at JNTUK, Kakinada, for the kind invitation extended to me. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to address this distinguished gathering during the Interactive Session on NIRF Ranking, alongside Principals and IQAC coordinators of JNTUK Affiliated Engineering Colleges.

?I must acknowledge the valuable insights shared by Prof. Mahadevan Ramachandran , Principal Advisor & Chair of Aassaan EduCare Foundation, during his informative and knowledge-sharing session on NIRF Rankings. It was indeed an enlightening experience.

?Our discussion revolved around various crucial parameters, all aimed at formulating a robust plan of action for the NIRF 2024 Rankings. Here's a brief overview of the key areas we explored:

?1)????? Teaching, Learning & Resources:

  • Ensuring Student Strength, including Doctoral Students (SS).
  • Maintaining Faculty-Student Ratios with an emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR).
  • Evaluating the combined metric for Faculty with PhD (or equivalent) and Experience (FQE).
  • Effective utilization of Financial Resources (FRU).

?2)????? Research and Professional Practice

  • Assessing the combined metric for Publications (PU).
  • Evaluating the combined metric for Quality of Publications (QP).
  • Examining IPR and Patents: Published and Granted (IPR).
  • Understanding the Footprint of Projects and Professional Practice (FPPP), with particular attention to prestigious platforms like SCOPUS and Web of Science.

3)????? Graduation Outcomes:

  • Evaluating the combined metric for Placement and Higher Studies (GPH).
  • Analyzing the metric for University Examinations (GUE).
  • Considering the Median Salary (GMS).
  • Tracking the metric for the Number of Ph.D. Students Graduated (GPHD).

4)????? Outreach and Inclusivity:

  • Promoting diversity with metrics like Percentage of Students from other States/Countries (Region Diversity RD)
  • Percentage of Women (Women Diversity WD)
  • Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS)
  • Facilities for Physically Challenged Students (PCS).

5)????? Perception:

  • ???????? Recognizing the significance of Peer Perception from Employers and Academic Peers (PR).

I am delighted to note the active participation of 50-75 Principals, IQAC Coordinators, and NIRF Coordinators in this workshop. The collective wisdom and thoughtful discussions were truly enriching, and I am grateful for the qualitative interaction with my esteemed peers.

?In conclusion, I extend my sincere appreciation to JNTU Kakinada for facilitating this significant gathering. Together, we are taking important steps towards enhancing the quality and impact of higher education institutions in our region.

?Thank you, once again, for your kind attention and collaboration.
