NIQ Brandbank Turned 25 ??

Our teams around the world took time to reflect on the last 25 years and to look ahead to the next 25.

Firstly, as you may have seen, NIQ Brandbank turned 25 in October 2023. This landmark birthday was marked by celebrations across each of our local teams and gave us a chance to reflect on 25 years of success and development and take time to consider the next 25 years.

Market Expansion

One of the most remarkable areas of growth in 2023 was NIQ Brandbank’s expansion into several new markets including our groundbreaking partnerships with retailers in the Philippines and United Arab Emirates and our new relationship with Walmart in Puerto Rico.??

We’ve established two brand-new local teams in UAE and the Philippines, and have begun building on our initial successful partnerships, working on adding more retailers and brands to our catalogue to enable more companies to create best in class product content.??

Solution Updates ?

At NIQ Brandbank we are constantly monitoring the digital landscape to offer our clients the best solutions to meet their needs. In 2023 we launched several new solutions to help meet client's needs, including a brand-new Shopper Experience Platform in Benelux and new visual solutions to enable suppliers to engage shoppers and enrich their digital shopping experiences.??

To enable suppliers to easily upload and manage their product content with NIQ Brandbank we launched Brandbank GO’s portal program in the United States, which has been received positively, with 6,386 products processed since launch.?

More and more retailers across markets recognized the need for enhanced product content and rich media and chose NIQ Brandbank as their preferred rich media management platform including Rossmann in Hungary and Czech Republic, Carrefour Belgium, ASDA, Morrisons and Sainsbury's in the U.K., Wakefern in the U.S. and many more.??

Our teams across Western Europe worked hard to launch a new Shopper Experience Platform to support B2B2C product content in the Benelux region.??

The release of B2B2C Content management with GDSN integration into our Shopper Experience Platform, marks the start of a new era. Brands can now easily navigate the multichannel minefield and distribute their product content to all types of recipients, through one central ecosystem based on one unique product master record. We are thrilled to be offering this capability to both existing and new clients for them to start getting in control of their product content management in the best possibly way.?

In the UK, more retailers chose our CGI content creation services, with Morrisons and Asda continuing to utilise the service and retailers Spar, One Stop and Booths joining them in 2023. This solution has helped retailers and brands to create more content at scale, lessening the impact on the environment and the costs associated with sample logistics.??

In Ireland, SuperValu has begun to enrich product content with more attributes than ever before to support shopper needs. Enriched attribution allows shoppers to access highly personalized shopping experiences that meet their evolving need-states through better results in faceted search or via key filtering on a retailer platform.??

Across Western Europe more retailers began to optimize product description pages with our rich media solution Connect+. Carrefour Belgium is now enabling suppliers to add a range of product content including images, GIFs, videos, infographics, comparison tables and more to enhance the product page.??


We are pleased to have added new verticals into our offering over 2023, most remarkably across Central Europe where our teams worked hard to expand across into the pharmaceutical sector, winning new business and enhancing the digital shopping experience for shoppers.??

In Poland the team added over 40 new retailers in the Pharmacy sector as clients, including PGF, Dr Max and Gemini along with 120 Suppliers including names like, Pharmovit, Profimed, Polski Lek, 3M and Urgo. The team also signed a new partnership with Allegro, with NIQ Brandbank becoming a key part of their product catalogue maintenance.??

New Pharma Partners in Poland

In Hungary, the team signed two new partnerships with Retailers Rossmann HU and Kifli to create engaging shopping experiences with our rich media solution Connect+. Suppliers are now able to enrich the product page with additional imagery, videos, comparison tables and more, to engage and inform shoppers at the point of purchase.??

In Czech Republic the team also signed a new deal with Rossmann to enable suppliers to upload informative videos to product pages across the retailer’s website and app. This gives suppliers the opportunity to offer customers the best possible online shopping experience and maximize the opportunity to increase sales with informative product content.?

In the US we launched our new platform Brandbank Go, designed to allow suppliers to easily upload and manage product content to seamlessly distribute across our retailer network. So far, the team has onboarded over 170 clients and processed over 6000 products, and the platform continues to grow and develop.

The team also worked on bespoke projects for retailer Wakefern including a project to capture perishable products on site. This unique, onsite initiative prioritised enhancing shopper engagement by employing custom art direction that incorporates a diverse array of images, including lifestyle shots. The ultimate objective is to boost shopper engagement within challenging eCommerce product categories.?

We also signed a new partnership with United Supermarkets, a supermarket chain based in Texas and New Mexico, to create a new Digital Content Program. This partnership allows brands to empower United Supermarket’s over 1.5Million weekly shoppers with accurate product information, comprehensive product insights, and engaging product content.??


Content Licensing?

Our Content Licensing team also had some?huge successes in 2023, syndicating our quality data to fulfil client needs, renewing contracts with Instacart in North America and signing a partnership with Unitas Wholesale.??

Other new partners include Carbs & Cals, Caterforce, Nesta, Selecta, Home Bargains, Whole Foods, Scoffable, Programme Ford, DG Pay and more. These partnerships enable companies access to our library of product data and imagery that can be transformed and utilised to support their platforms, apps and varying individual needs.??
