NIPSEA Group: Advancing Sustainability and Pioneering Innovations in the 3C Sector

Recently, NIPSEA Group released its 2022 Sustainable Development Report, showcasing the progress and achievements of the group in the overall operational and supply chain sustainability efforts. The report emphasises NIPSEA Group's commitment to five key sustainable development areas, including the Environment, People, Community, Innovation, and Customers. The report also reinforces that NIPSEA Group will continue its sustainable development practices, minimising its ecological footprint and actively contributing to create a better future.

NIPSEA Group has established a Sustainable Development Steering Committee, led by the Chief Executive Officer of the group. The committee comprises leaders from marketing and CSR, business, human resources, finance, and innovation. Heads of relevant functional departments serve as advisors, offering valuable insights into ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies.

NIPSEA Group has made the development of sustainable products a strategic goal. The ESG Innovation Committee, led by Dr. Hong Jiang, Chief Technology Officer of NIPSEA Group, defines sustainably advantaged products as referring to products in each respective market segment that possess sustainability advantages relative to mainstream products. Additionally, NIPSEA Group has developed green design review functionality in its Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tools, ensuring that future technological and product development plans align with the group's sustainable development strategy.

As of the end of 2022, nearly 60% of projects in the PPM system have undergone green design reviews, with 53% of these projects recognised as sustainable products. In 2022, sustainably advantaged products contributed approximately $558 million in sales for the group.

NP SunRise? coating solution facilitates sustainable development of 3C industry products

In the 3C industry, NIPSEA Group has developed a series of sustainably advantaged products that are environmentally friendly, high-quality, and cost efficient. 3C coatings primarily refer to coatings used in products within the categories of Computers, Communication and Consumer electronics devices.

Computers, mobile phones, and other consumer electronic devices, due to the characteristics of their 3C products, demand higher aesthetic qualities. Additionally, as these products come into direct contact with people, 3C coatings have stricter requirements related to heavy metal and halogen content. In addition to aesthetic and environmental characteristics, 3C coatings must exhibit excellent properties such as light resistance, weather resistance, high-temperature resistance, acid resistance, and alkali resistance.

Addressing the stringent requirements of the market and users, the Advanced Coatings Business Unit of NIPSEA Group has developed the NP SunRise? 3C coating solution. This solution enables the recycling and reuse of harmless components, providing consumers with safer and more environmentally friendly 3C products. The solution includes various low-VOC, high-solid oil-based, and water-based products, aimed at reducing the use of chemical raw materials and harmful substances, thereby promoting green development in the 3C industry.

Currently, the NP SunRise? coating solution has been consistently recognised and supplied to various clients of international well-known computer brands and top global manufacturing plants. Additionally, the Advanced Coatings Business Unit's unique UV curing system has obtained certification from several globally renowned mobile phone brands and headphone suppliers, further establishing its reputation in the industry.
