Nippon Paint Vietnam Aims Green; To Plant 10 Million Trees In Efforts to Promote Environmental Awareness & Sustainable Development

Nippon Paint Vietnam will be painting the Ben Tre province green by committing in planting 10 million trees, in a joint-effort alongside Mekong One, Ben Tre’s Provincial People’s Committee and Tam Long Vang Foundation. Heeding the Prime Minister’s call, HE Nguyen Xuan Phuc, to add one billion trees by 2025, the initiative seeks to raise awareness on environmental, climate change, biodiversity and sustainability issues. A green lung is vital to urban development as well as to protect against land encroachment.??

Despite facing a number of challenges including a lack of awareness from local authorities, the company collaborated closely with its partners at Tam Long Vang Foundation and Ben Tre Provincial People’s Committee to develop plans to address the issues. Customised solutions were devised during the pandemic period, culminating in its launch now.? The tree-planting project has contributed to broader efforts to combat climate change and protect the environment, and the project organisers also conducted other propaganda activities to raise awareness about the importance of trees in reducing CO2 in the atmosphere and living sustainably in harmony with nature.

Additionally, Nippon Paint Vietnam also actively encouraged its employees to plant trees around their homes and offices, inculcating the practice as a habit for its employees and respective families. As part of its commitment to provide more opportunities to the communities, the company also offers the Basic Painting Technique Training Class for Youths to further broaden their skills and capabilities.
