NIO Cup FSEC and FSAC 2023 Came to A Successful Conclusion

On November 12, the NIO Cup FSEC and FSAC 2023 came to a successful conclusion in Hefei. 108 teams from universities signed up for this year’s races; participants, business representatives, referees, staff and volunteers totaled nearly 4,000. Aihua Yu, Member of the Standing Committee of Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Hefei Municipal Party Committee, Fushen Hou, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Society of Automotive Engineers, Jianlai Yan, Co-Founder of FSEC and FSAC, Executive Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee, and Secretary General of China Society of Automotive Engineers, William Li, Founder, Chairman and CEO of NIO, and other governmental, institutional, and business leaders attended the competition and presented awards to the winning teams.

The GSPEED team from Jilin University won the championship of the NIO Cup FSEC 2023.

The GW-HRT team from Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) won the championship of the NIO Cup FSAC 2023.

In 2023, NIO has established several NIO awards, donated test vehicles to the race teams and invited team members to join NIO’s internship and exchange activities, supporting the races in multiple ways and helping the young people realize their dream of building a car.

At the award ceremony, William expressed his congratulations to the students: “Congratulations on the successful conclusion of this year’s races! The competition has been held in Hefei for two consecutive years and I believe you can feel how Hefei cares about new energy vehicle talent. Thanks to the joint efforts of all the students, teachers, and referees and congratulations to the teams and students with excellent performance!”

In 2010, William initiated the Formula Student Electric China together with the China Society of Automotive Engineers. NIO has supported FSEC and FSAC for nine consecutive years ever since. As of today, the event has cumulatively trained over 40,000 talents for the automotive industry, the students have independently designed more than 1,600 race cars, 60 teams have been abroad for competitions, 35 international awards have been won and thousands of technical papers have been written. In China’s booming NEV industry with new trends and requirements, FSEC and FSAC have become the cradle of talents.
