NINDS recognizes five outstanding mentors for the 2024 Landis Award

Our mission is to seek knowledge about the brain and nervous system and reduce the burden of neurological disease.
Excellent mentorship and training are critical to the development of exceptional future scientists.?To recognize the contributions and impact of outstanding mentors, NINDS established the NINDS Landis Award for Outstanding Mentorship. Each year,?NINDS?selects up to five Landis Awardees from among faculty members who have shown dedication to superior mentorship and training in neuroscience research.

These awardees have demonstrated not only outstanding research accomplishments, but also an immense impact on the lives of others, and the future of neuroscience, through outstanding mentorship and training. NINDS hopes this tangible award will impress upon the scientific community as a whole, and faculty and institutional leaders in particular, the high value NINDS places on training and mentorship.
Do you know an outstanding mentor who deserves to be recognized? The 2025 Landis Award will recognize up to five mid-career faculty, candidates who are in years 13-20 from the start of their first tenure-track or equivalent position. Nominations for the 2025 Landis Award will be accepted through December 15, 2024.
