The Nigerian prince is real..

A while after posting this Genie 135' lift for sale online, I received an email from someone who was interested in buying and shipping it to Nigeria! I thought, "this is definitely a scam" but I decided to carefully go along with it. We moved our communications over to WhatsApp and I discovered the broker was Nigerian but living in Ontario. After going back and forth for MONTHS, sending paperwork and various performance tests through WhatsApp we agreed on a price. The next step was to get payment which took another few months and several payments. The next milestone was getting all the shipping documents and transportation arranged to ship to Nigeria. Originally the plan was to send it to Halifax and load it on the ship but we settled on Baltimore instead because of cost. The last hick up happened on a -25 degree day when our friends from Siemens Transportation Group sent a flatbed. The machine’s wheel base was too narrow so the deck needed to be temporarily reinforced as the metal supporting beams were spaced out larger than the tires. After a bit of tinkering we chained it down and I sighed with relief as it left the yard. I was recently informed it made it to the port and is probably sailing on the ocean somewhere.

Anyways, obviously the Nigerian prince didn't buy this lift but I never thought in a million years this would work. I've came across so many scams and never took part in them but it paid off to dip my toes into this one and carefully check it out. Through hard work, attention to detail, and perseverance, we got this lift off our hands! Woohoo!!
