NIGERIA
Nigeria keeps becoming more difficult to live in and raise a proper home. Talk about the growing cost of commodities to high rise in transportation, not to mention the discomfort that comes from the terrible power supply or the inefficient security around the Nation. All these and more are reasons why there is continuous increase in the number of people fleeing the country yearly. The cost of living is rising without a commemorate growth in economy. With these really terrible conditions we find ourselves, many have lost hope in this country, and who can blame the defectors who leave in search of greener pastures. We are a nation blessed with natural resources like no other, a nation of various beautiful tribes and cultures, with massive land mass and high workforce. One begins to wonder why is despite all these deposits of potential such a nation is still considered one of the poorest in the world? The answer is quite simple... ‘NIGERIA LACKS A SYSTEM. All of the many things one can think of and say is the reason for the ill-luck in this nation, from the corrupt leaders to the unlawful citizens, continuous kidnapping and armed robbery, lawlessness of the law givers and the so called law enforcers (police), the lack of integrity of traders and workers across the nation, the selfishness of neighbors in a community, recklessness of drivers (leading to many accidents), this is just to name a few; all these are a product of this one thing. Nigeria is not the only corrupt country, in fact, we are "learners" in corruption when compared to some other countries, but many of those countries thrive on the system that has been put in place and strongly adhered to. Nigeria needs a system that works. The question now is, who should be responsible for creating this system, Our government?
Our grandfathers complained about an enslaving government, our fathers about a wicked government, we about a corrupt government, all we do is find different names to qualify our suffering so we can have something/someone to blame and hold responsible for our misery, it's a pity that if we keep going this way, the next generation will only look for a better name for the indecent livelihood of this nation. The nation (with the help of all) has dug her own pit so deep that it seems impossible to climb out of the misery. Who then will save us from our own made pit?
It must be said that there is no quick fix for the problems facing this nation, since it took a while to get here (at least a naira was equal to a pound at some point in history), but we now find ourselves in a declined state, it's only fair that it will also take a while to climb back up, the only solution is that we begin to rebuild from where we now find ourselves (where a pound is now over 750 times more than a Naira).
Rebuilding will have to begin from the ground up. From the smallest of our social structures to the largest; in each home in a community and each community in a state, and and then in every state in the country. Enough of repeating the cycle of misery, it's high time we started holding ourselves responsible in the homes and our communities for the government we complain about to rise. Let's rebuild this great nation together. Everyone won't do it, and that's alright cos change can begin with one person . One person with a big enough sense of responsibility to their home and Nation who will then motivate others to come out boldly and start doing what is right in/for their community.
The first place to begin is on our knees and seek the face of God for guidance individually, because it's a pity the extent to which the religious sectors have failed us.
Enough can't be said about the failure in the education sector, not only do the schools fail to teach pupils the vital things that will get them prepared for the future, but they go all the way to undermine students and damage their self-esteem by planting fear strongly into their minds. They teach them how to only be competitive and not how to work together in unity. The higher institutions produce millions of graduates yearly (after a few ASUU strikes) into the labor force, who are majorly trained to compete for the few available companies in the country, shutting the minds of many from entrepreneurship and leaving many jobless. It is time we start giving ourselves and kids proper education. If we think deeply about all these and provide great answers for the troubling questions, we would see a way out of this really deep pit!

I strongly believe that together we can make this Nigeria great again. If you read this article to this point, it shows you agree with me, and its reason enough for me to call you a my brother and sister. We kindly request your opinion, as some of us are really dedicated to slowly but actively do something every day to make our Nation great and a better place for the future of our kids.
My name is Oluwatobiloba (LYON), and I believe this nation still has a future and a hope.
Like and share if you believe this also.
Next week we will start looking into how we can build successful and lasting investments in this Nigeria of today. And we will continue to deliberate based on the opinions we get from you all, on how to drive this nation forward.
Thanks.
