Nigeria is a bed of thorns

Like most Nigerians, I struggle to survive every day. Although living in Nigeria is like a bed of thorns, life isn't always a bed of roses. Regardless of what Nigeria brings to the table, I wake up every day with a heavy heart and a burning desire to change for the better.

Workplaces, markets, and even churches are toxic today. The toxicity in the air is slowly consuming Nigeria, eating away at everything and everyone.

I usually experience emotional collapse two to three times a year, but recently I have experienced it every week, nonstop. Even though I believe in God, life can be difficult at times, and I sometimes lose faith.

Like the majority of Nigerians today, I take each day as it comes. I work hard to juggle everything, and I am hardly content. low income, increased expenses, and relocation challenges. In addition to food scarcity, employers are unwilling to increase salaries. These alone are depressing enough for me.

Recently, I concluded that all it takes to advance is a shift in perspective. I no longer feel depressed about my life because I am now facing life head-on. Finding the right person to talk to and having the willingness to change helped make this shift in perspective happen.

Nevertheless, despite her thorns, Nigeria can always be a bed of roses.
