Nicole Lynn: Power Moves

Nicole Lynn: Power Moves

Named by Sports Illustrated as one of the most powerful women in sports, Nicole Lynn, attorney, top sports agent, and author can’t stop making major league moves!?

The Tulsa Oklahoma native’s business savvy and strong will to succeed has led her to become one of the youngest female sports agents in the industry signing her first client at 26 years old.

In 2019, Lynn became the first Black woman to represent a Top 3?National Football League?draft pick (only the second woman in history to solo represent an NFL first-rounder.)

In 2020, Lynn made history again, representing back-to-back Top 10 NFL draft picks. Since then, her extensive top NFL client list includes players with the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins, an ESPY nominated Softball star and a Ballerina from the famous American Ballet Theatre.

Lynn’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Price College of Business with a minor in African American Studies. After graduation Lynn moved to New York and worked as a Financial Analyst for one of the largest investment banks in the world, Morgan Stanley. While on Wall Street she obtained both her Series 7 and Series 63 certifications through FINRA. After leaving Wall Street Lynn returned to Oklahoma to pursue a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Oklahoma School of Law where she graduated with honors in 2015. While studying law, she interned at the?National Football League Players Association in Washington D.C. before beginning a federal clerkship with the Honorable Judge Robin Cauthron.

Lynn sat for and passed the NFL Contract Advisor exam after receiving her Texas law license. She then began pursuing her dual careers as an attorney and an NFLPA and NBAPA-certified sports agent. In 2015, Lynn became the first and only female agent to represent top sports agency, PlayersRep Sports Management. Shortly after, PlayersRep was acquired by Young Money APAA Sports Agency owned by world-renowned rapper, Lil Wayne in 2017.

In 2020, Lynn received her certification to represent?NBA?players. It was also reported that year that celebrity entertainer?50 Cent?was producing a drama television series based on her life and career for?Starz. Lynn will be an executive producer for the show.

Lynn published her autobiography,?Agent You, and was included on?Worth's "21 Most Powerful Women in the Business of Sports” in 2021.?That same year, Lynn elevated her career and joined the team at Klutch Sports Group as their new President of Football Operations.

In April 2023, Lynn helped client, Philadelphia Eagles?Quarterback,?Jalen Hurts, to a record-breaking NFL contract. The team will pay Hurts an average of $51 million per season over five years, the highest per-year value in the history of the league at the time. Hurts publicly thanked Lynn for negotiating the deal and for being a part of his dynamic management team consisting of all women. Lynn initially connected with Hurts?via Instagram after he finished his college career. "Hey, have you picked an?agent? If not, I'd love to link,” Lynn recalled writing?in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

Lynn was named the National Bar Association’s Top 40 Under 40 Lawyer (2022), Culture Creators, Sports Honoree (2022), 2x Woman of the Year award at The Hustle SBJ Game Changer Award, Glamour Magazine - Most Powerful Women in Sports, and Sports Illustrated – 100 Powerful Black Women and Sports Illustrated - The Unrelenting list.

One of Lynn’s main takeaways is to remind individuals that they have the power to uniquely create their future while remaining true to themselves within her book, “Agent You: Show Up Do the Work and Succeed on Your Own Terms.”

When asked to what she attributes her success Lynn says, “The adversity I experienced as a child definitely shaped my mindset as an adult. I knew that I wanted to escape that life, and I had to work hard to do it. So, I have always done just that. I owe every bit of success I’ve achieved to my extremely dedicated work ethic and my unwavering faith in God.”
