Are we in a niche, or a pigeonhole?
What's the difference between a niche and a pigeonhole?
Perhaps it's most easily explained as this: a niche is the place you carve for yourself, and a pigeonhole is where others put you.
I like to think that my company occupies a position that is well understood by our clients, but a couple of recent conversations have brought home to me that we can't assume people know what we want them to know about us.
So with that in mind, we bring you…
10 things you might not know about Big Picture Communications
- We're all permanent full-time employees. No contractors.
- We can write, edit, format and design, and project manage the entire document preparation process. Or any combination thereof.
- We work on business pursuits (EOIs, proposals and tenders) and deliverables (public and community documents, technical study reports, environmental studies, commercial reporting).
- We can take your technical, complex subject matter and turn it into a compelling story. And we can bring together a collection of technical pieces to create a glorious symphony.
- We look beyond the content on the page to challenge whether it answers the question, completely and concisely.
- We know you don't mean to hurt us, but when you ask us to just 'make it pretty', our collective soul aches.
- We work hard to anticipate your needs, but we can't always read minds: the better informed we are, the more we can do for you.
- We love hearing about your outcomes. Tender results, responses to public reports, management's feedback on commercial reports...always.
- We play well with (or without) others. We’re good at integrating ourselves into our clients' offices, or working remotely, as required.
- We're in it for the long term. We build enduring relationships with our clients, which helps us to help you from one project to the next.
So that’s our top 10.
If you thought you knew us, did you discover anything new?
