Huge fan of this company - a Melbourne based crew that are building a brand by building a series of brands, focussed on a better healthcare industry for all.
Health is obviously not a niche in and of itself. But the creation of Nectar Brands itself, and how they curate their approach, are a shining example in my mind of a group that are creating impact via their vision, of which I have been lucky enough to be involved with a bit via my time in Tractor.
When medicinal cannabis is mentioned, there is a need for de-stigmatisation, especially when the application of plant based alternatives are a necessity for people to live their lives with dignity, care and quality of life. ??
Nectar Brands began with Founders Chris Nasr and Grace Tan launching their digital clinic technology to the world in 2020 and developing their umbrella of brands from there. Tractor Ventures have played a small role in that funding journey and I have no doubt this team are on the precipice of a fast rise thanks to the considered and inclusive approach they are taking to market.
The Polln brand rollout occurred in 2021 - an online platform to help patients get accessible and supportive medicinal cannabis healthcare from home.
Next came Cultiva in 2022 -? a premium medicinal cannabis brand, sourcing from leading cultivators across the globe.
Then, Hazel in 2023, which is working to close the gender pain gap by launching Australia's first interdisciplinary online clinic dedicated to female pain.
It’s printed right on the tin (their website) but the team are proud to take an inclusive approach in how their own team have been curated, which flows on to how their brands engage and develop for their customers, with empathy and care:
69% female, 62% BIPOC & representing LGBTQIA+ Indigenous and Neurodivergent communities.

Regarding Polln and Cultiva,: when medicinal cannabis, or anything else that falls into ‘drugs’ territory is acknowledged, a large portion of the world may regard this as nefarious or unsavoury, and communicated amongst their circles as such.
But with increasingly changing opinions in the world and an increased emphasis on the holistic benefits of the treatments which have been justified and proven with research and results, it is important to see de-stigmatisation on the menu, as Nectar Brands are leading the way on this front.
And I for one am extremely happy to see them taking this on, as they leverage tech, and importantly (as they state): ‘Serve the Unserved.’
Anyone looking to get in touch with Nectar Brands, contact the founders directly, or just reach out if you have a proposal for them that I can pass on.
With Victoria having such an emphasis on health as a primary driver of the innovation ecosystem for the state, this team are in my opinion going to play a large part in that being so, as standards for better patient outcomes continue to be elevated and they continue to dismantle unnecessary biases.
Obviously, next steps are the world. ??
Plus, they’re very good to strategically growing their company from a funding perspective, which I can attest to. Smart smart operators.
