HAPPENINGS AT NICE IN MARCH 2024!


NICE PROGRAMS

'Crafts Accelerator Cohort 2024, in partnership with Catalyst AIC (Supported by AIM, NITI Aayog) and Jaipur Rugs Foundation, commenced with a 5-day visit to Jaipur. The visit included field immersion activities and gaining insights into their processes of Jaipur Rugs on the ground. This was followed by interactions with business leaders, including the founder of Jaipur Rugs, Nand Kishore Chaudhary (NKC), networking opportunities with industry experts and much more!

NICEorg’s Cultural and Heritage Entrepreneurship (CHE) program in collaboration with INTACH came to a close after 3 months of sessions on finance, marketing, business plan creation, pitch deck creation and pitch deck presentations. A cohort of 11 students from INTACH completed the credited program with their final assignment being a business plan in the cultural entrepreneurship landscape.

NICEorg along with CWE (Catalyst for Women Entrepreneurship) concluded the NICExCWE Aarohana which spanned over 6 months with 9 women entrepreneurs belonging to NICE focus sectors.?

Mentoring sessions on sessions on finance, marketing, legal work and several other business processes were conducted by our esteemed mentors at NICE with a focus on each entrepreneur individually as well

NICEorg along with Curated LegalTech organised a webinar on 'Legal Compliance for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.' The webinar took place on the 21st of March and Aditi Sharma Wadhwa along with Sanjay Prasad shared valuable insights on the best practices for collecting and sharing customer data, adherence to government guidelines, obtaining proper consent from customers, and maintaining clear data-sharing hygiene while working with vendors or third parties.

Curated LegalTech’s AI driven tool aids organizations to comply effectively with the DPDP Act. The session concluded with the crucial fact that compliance is not just a legal obligation but a fundamental pillar of trust between organizations and their customers.


NICE Stories

It’s All Folk - From Archiving to Empowering

Its All Folk is a young cultural enterprise based in Arunachal Pradesh, founded by first-time entrepreneur Namrata Tiwari. The brand modernizes traditional Indian handloom practices, using yak wool to create their unique product line. This includes bags, pouches, hats, and more. They currently manage two collectives – the Brokpa collective, which aims to incentivize the use of yak fiber, and the Dangnga collective, which aims to valorize and reinterpret the traditional loin loom weaves of Daangnga. Overall, both collectives aim to create income opportunities for weavers and yak herders of the Monpa community.

ENTERPRISE UPDATES

Launched their “Bombay Meri Jaan” Collection - Ritu Oberoi is not a Mumbaikar by birth, but her soul and heart is a hardcore Bambaiya. This collection is an ode to the City of Dreams.

Their “Ekla Cholo” Sarees had quotes and verses that touched the chord of many and to recreate that feeling, they started their research on similar elements from a different geography. Their search led them to Mumbai!

Ritu’s heart lies in making something for the city which has given her the life that she always wanted. Her team began working on these sarees last year and it took them a whole year to finalise the designs, get the samples and finally launch the collection. This Saree is meant to start a conversation and get people connected over their love for the city. The collection speaks to anyone who has loved Bombay or aspires to be there someday.

Vivekananda Health Global participates in National Conference organised by The Institute of company secretaries of India (ICSI) and speaks at Biocon Biologics, ASM Technologies and Jyothi Structures -? Vivekananda Health Global is working in the field of Integrative Medicine where there is a personalised approach to based on mind body balance.

This holistic approach is also essential for organisational growth since employee wellbeing is the crux of performance.

In a National conference organised by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) at Sheraton Grand, Bengaluru, Dr.Vasudha Sharma was an invited panelist and speaker. She discussed integrative medicine and the Indian traditional system of healing and explained how each person is a unique human being requires a personalized approach thereby touching the lives of over 2000 participants.

Dr.Vasudha Was also invited as a guest speaker at Biocon Biologics, during the Women's Day celebration to specifically address women scientists. She spoke about "Power of well-being and the importance of mental health in fostering optimal scientific contributions". The other talks for well being were at ASM technologies and Jyothi structures. ?
