Be Nice

You have absolutely nothing to gain by being nasty. There are many people who are full of crap. They speak out of the abundance of their hearts. Don’t expect them to give what they don’t have. Trash is stored in their heart’s reserves. Don’t sink to their dirty level. Be nice but don’t waste time proving it. A peaceful heart is a good enough reward.
If you’re a good person, the goodness will continue through your descendants. Nasty people reveal their bloodline. Treat everyone well. Surround yourself with good people. Minimize time you spend with those who stress you. Life has enough issues to deal. Why carry unnecessary baggage from people hellbent to crash your spirit? Life is too short to appease troubled spirits.
But don’t discard people whose defects are not deliberate. Focus and encourage the good in them. We all have human shortcomings. You’re never too important to be nice to people. The higher we are placed, the more humbly we should walk. In the words of Jesus, “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted - Matthew 24:12.”
Arrogant people focus on who is right in their own eyes. Humble people focus on what is right. You cannot be good to others if you’re not good to yourself. Why did Jesus tell us to pray for our enemies? Praying for those who hurt you may not change them but it will change you. Don’t stop being good because there are many bad people. You’ll be remembered more for your goodness than your success.
