Niagara : Beauty & the Beast
I grabbed this chance of visiting Niagara while exploring nearby places from Toronto..
It takes less than 2 hours from Toronto to reach the falls… I booked a hotel room for a night and went off to explore the falls…
While all the famous photographs of Niagara are from Outlook or from strolling alongside the falls.. the most powerful experience is feeling it from inside The Falls itself… Trust me when I quote this -
"The most beautiful things in this world may not be seen or even touched… It must be felt with the heart!"
The falls are so ferocious that it feels like it's engulfed in it's own power… I felt so small and so powerful at the same time. Small because the falls are so huge that it makes your heart beat faster as you go into that white dense mist with nowhere to escape… and yet powerful because you are standing tall in front of one of the most magnificent sight in the world..
The deafening roar of the falls… White dense mist due to the falls in turn creating rigorous rainfall… No matter how good your raincoat is you are in for a surprise when you go into the largest of the 3 falls of Niagara- The Horse Shoe falls! This crescent-shaped cataract is 54 M (177 ft) high and the River flows at approximately 56.3 km/hour.
A must visit sight for everyone at least once in the lifetime…
PS: Do visit the falls late evening as well for the beautiful colors of the fall and fireworks!
