While we wait for the excitement of live hockey to be back @NHL and @NBCSN bring a different kind of live competition to our fans with the Player Gaming Challenge Presented by @Honda.
Be sure to catch opening round matches tonight at 5-6 pm EST during @NBCSN Hockey Happy Hour. @LosAngelesKings TV play-by-play announcer Alex Faust, will serve as host for each week’s matches.
Player representatives from all 31 NHL clubs (as well as NHL Seattle who begin play in the 2021-22 season) will play in an @EA NHL 20 charity exhibition. The NHL Player Gaming Challenge will take place over the course of four weeks, during which players from each NHL team will play head-to-head games to be broadcast on NBCSN, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and NHL.com.
Each club will play once during the competition, creating 16 individual match-ups. NHL Seattle will be represented by @SeattleSeahawks player Luke Wilson.
The National Hockey League Foundation and EA will also donate $100K USD to coronavirus (COVID-19) relief efforts.
@NHL and @NBCSports thanks long-term partner and official league sponsor Honda who has signed on as the presenting sponsor. The automotive brand has also supported the NHL’s other eSports initiatives including the NHL Gaming World Championship since 2018.
