After attending NFTNYC2023, our Co-Founder Tony Pearce and our Web 3.0 content lead, Warren Lincoln share their initial impressions from the event following their attendance last week. Read on to get their views on attending and the ?big takeaways in terms of trends for 2023.?

The NFT NYC conference was a dynamic event that brought together a diverse group of professionals, investors, collectors, and enthusiasts in the NFT space.

The conference was held in New York City at North Javits and featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibition stands that explored the latest developments and trends in the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Keynote Speeches:

The keynote speeches at NFT NYC 2023 were particularly insightful, and we gained valuable insights from the following speakers:

1.?Tom Bilyeu, CEO and CO Founder of Impact Theory, Spoke about ‘Borderless Entertainment’.

2.?Jeremy Fine, Head of Business Development at Opensea spoke on a panel about ‘Building for mass adoption to redefine the Internet’.

3.?Tony Pearce, our very own Tony spoke on a panel about ‘Building brand Awareness Using NFTS’.

From 12th – 14th of April, the event featured a wide range of content, from curated art handpicked by the NFT NYC team to thought-provoking talks delivered by industry and community leaders.

Among the speakers was Tom Bilyeu, Co-Founder of Impact Theory studios, who shared insights into the concept of “Borderless Entertainment”, introducing the concept for something to “Matter” they should “Be made of matter”.

As NFTS are the concept of a nontangible item, this approach really inspired the audience to think about how to evolve their own approach and understanding of the space and the technology.

In 2022, the overall show attendance was 14,000 whilst 2023 the overall show attendance was closer to 7,000.

Throughout the event, we had the pleasure of interacting with fellow artists, admiring the latest works, engaging in conversations, and exploring various galleries and exhibitions.

The Reality+ team made their way out to Williamsburg to see the impressive dedicated NFT graffiti wall and witnessed the artist ‘Masnah’, creating a brand new piece.

Reality+ also had the opportunity to attend a variety of satellite events at NYC.

We attended the Microsoft Experience Centre to check out a Web3 Summit and we were presented with a fantastic real world approach that Microsoft Azure take to using blockchain to support their logistic partners.

We headed over to an exclusive Samsung event, which was hosted by ‘FUTURE+’ and they hosted a panel talk regarding ‘Future of Retail and Customer Loyalty’.

It’s so insightful to learn about the phygital space and how companies like ‘SALESFORCE’, ‘BitGo’ and ‘Exclusible’ are offering to enhance consumer experience.

We were also invited to a number of evening networking meet up which included being part attending ‘The Sandbox and AOK1verse’ party and we partied with musician ‘Steve Aoki’.?

Even within a bear market, it’s great to see generative NFT collections continue to experience success, such as “Outlaws” which were released over the days of NFTNYC and had generated over 600ETH within 12 hours which clearly demonstrates that the industry continues to have a healthy appetite for new work and collections.

“Whilst the NFT market has retracted, I believe this is a helpful recalibration of the exciting innovations to come within the NFT sector”. - Warren, Reality+ Web3 community lead comments.
‘’NFTNYC is a vital event for the industry to ensure that communities and partners come together and continue to focus on building for the future.’’ adds Tony Pearce, Reality+ Co Founder.

In summary the team at Reality+ are feeling bullish for what’s next, and there’s a sentiment that the market is too.

It’s clear that 2023 and beyond looks to focus on quality over quantity and creators have access to so much more technology to assist in creating immersive and engaging NFT experiences.

Stay tuned for more updates soon!?
