NFT guide; AI doesn't need supervision; The Raise of AI Natives; Free Data Science Books 2022

If you’ve been keeping up with the cryptocurrency world, you’ve probably come across the term “NFT.”?They are one-of-a-kind, non-interchangeable digital assets that also serve as valid proof of ownership on the blockchain. Recently, an?AI Art Piece?broke the record of the highest price on the NFT market.

Even if you don't want to buy or make NFTs, it is still better to educate yourself about the technology. What the hell are NFTs?? Read more about NFTs in my previous?issue.

When most people think of NFTs, they think it is only the profile pics, some [Adjectives][Animals], or pixilated images.?This couldn't be further from the truth! They were supposed to be digital representations of art, they are indivisible and non-replicable, to which people can attach value. Good news! There is a growing movement to make NFTs usable in several different ways by adding utilities to create a different kind of value proposition, on top of their scarcity and collectability.

Utility NFTs have valuations based on the access and opportunities they provide to the holders. They offer clearly defined intrinsic value in addition to the usual scarcity associated with NFTs. The main types of NFTs are:

One of the more novel concepts is the NFT staking or farming. This refers to staking NFTs to a protocol to earn a yield. It gives NFTs passive yield-generating utility and can be thought of as decentralized finance meets NFTs.

A common concept in this scenario is the staking portal where you can turn compatible NFTs into vaults from which you earn rewards. An example of a staking portal would be the Genesis Farm. Where users are allowed to stake free MEME tokens to farm limited edition NFTs which can then be sold on NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea or Rarible.

The market will mature in the near future and more utilities will be integrated into NFTs, which is, unfortunately, following a hyped trend now. Always, think about utilities and the long-term games and never buy NFTs from anonymous creators with no LinkedIn Account.

Here is a guide to identifying high potential projects:?https://lnkd.in/gQdmNg2Y

I am not sure that the best use of NFT's is for art. The value of NFT's is in the secure tracking of millions or even better billions of transactions. An example of a good use of NFT's would be the tracking of all the transactions in shipping where the current paper trail is cumbersome and time consuming as well as inaccurate. NFT's could speed up the process and make it much more accurate. The underlying Blochian technology that makes NFT's safe becomes more secure and beneficial when the rate of transactions is high and the complex nature of transactions and tracking of ownership makes the idea of NFT's useful when applied to complex transactional problems. The publicity stunt of selling a horribly pixelated lion for a ridiculous amount was simply that a publicity stunt designed to popularize NFT's and it worked, but now we should be responsible and stop trying to chance instant fortunes but apply NFT's to applications that they will work best for,

A lot to learn. Thanks.
