NextComputing NAB 2017 Wrap-Up Report - Part 3
AMD Launches New SuperTech at #NABShow2017!
Of course AMD always exceeds expectations and NAB2017 was no exception!
The Edge systems were running Radeon Pro wx7100 cards, the world's best option for professional VR development and playout!
Just a single card can support full virtual reality immersion experiences and the Edge system comes pre-configured so all you have to do is choose your headset, set the countdown and blast off to a plethora of virtual experiences, such as Magma Chamber 360!
AMD's booth at NAB was perfect. It was simple and understated. The entire back panel beautifully laid out a timeline clearly highlighting milestones past and what's to come! #RadeonProSSG #RadeonProDuo #&BEYOND!
Here are some closer views of the hardware display case that was the buzz of the show!
Due to the low-wattage requirements of the Radeon wx Pro graphics cards, the Edge T100 can accommodate up to (3) x Radeon Pro wx7100 cards! That is really beyond the normal requirement, but since the cards are so economical, you could theoretically run VR for (3) headsets, while simultaneously powering a dozen 5K external monitors.
We will follow-up this series with a more in-depth analysis on optimizing the VR experience and what's next from our understanding. #AMD will be leading the charge for sure, so make sure you sign up for their social networks and attend their events!
