The Next Wave of Advertising!

While every Giant Company is talking about the Contemporary Strategies to grease the wheels of the consumers and brands, some brands are taking a leap towards The Next Wave and are setting the Benchmarks. Undoubtedly, the paradigm shift in consumer behaviour towards the digital landscape is worth noticeable. With billions of interactions increasing every day, the traditional ways of planning a campaign are no longer usefully applied. Media viewing habits continue unabated, in order to ensure buyer's unique's objectives are met across screens, customization and flexibility are paramount.

Due to COVID 19, Many brands are seeing a drop in advertising spending in 2020 as stores are closed and revenues are decreasing. Brands need to refocus their marketing and advertising to purpose-driven marketing and cause-related marketing to better satiate consumers.

45 per cent of global consumers are devoting more time to social media, online video streaming has increased by 26 per cent, online gaming traffic has increased exponentially on one telecommunication company's servers, and the number of consumers using online food delivery and essential goods delivery has risen dramatically.

As a result, many brands may look to optimise their strategies as per the New Normal.

To that End, Brands might need to look to answer the following questions before heading towards the Next Wave:

  • How can we communicate with our consumers and be empathetic?
  • Why a consumer needs the services and products of my brand in such a crisis?
  • How do we currently promote our products and services that resonate with our consumers in the midst of the crisis?
  • Who are the heroes that we can applaud?
  • How do we promote a good cause with our current services and products?

Optimism and the fact that every challenge opens new horizon has made the compelling need for newer ways and means of connectivity and thereby a relook at digital approach comes in. Creative thinkers might think out of the box but the next wave will be more about relooking in the Box.
