Next stop for #ElonMusk: New age buses and trucks?
When Elon Musk talks, the world listens. And when he draws up a plan for #Tesla, nearly a decade after the first one, you can only imagine what happens — the world goes into a tizzy.
In a blog on Wednesday, he charted the next course for Tesla and it is not Model 3. It is all about providing solar power to consumers and launching new age buses and trucks.
Other than consumer vehicles, there are two other types of electric vehicle that Tesla will be focusing on: heavy-duty trucks and high passenger-density urban transport, which will be akin to either buses or trams (perhaps buses more than trams). While both are in the early stages of development, Musk is confident that they will be ready for unveiling next year. "We believe the Tesla Semi will deliver a substantial reduction in the cost of cargo transport, while increasing safety and making it really fun to operate," Musk says, in his blog.
