The 'Next Step'?

The 'Next Step'

Happy Friday, and welcome to the third edition of my weekly LinkedIn Exclusive article. First off, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. Second, if you’ve been reading along every week then welcome back - I sincerely hope you’ve been finding value in these so far. If this is the first time you’re clicking through, then welcome!

My two main hopes for this series are that 

  1. By keeping these weekly exclusives native to the LinkedIn platform, the content is easier to consume right in your feed without being routed over to a website. 
  2. By keeping the content native to the LinkedIn platform, we’re able to create an open and direct dialogue that feels a bit more personal and in real-time compared to emailing back and forth.

You see, that ‘openness’ that comes from a direct line of communication is incredibly important as you’re trying to develop your culture. Being able to have your questions answered and developing a dialogue when trying to figure out ‘the next step’ is incredibly important.

But that isn’t all, that same openness is absolutely critical to the development of your culture in the first place. 

That ‘next step’ or in some cases even the ‘first step’ isn’t effective without transparency within the organization.

It’s one of THE MOST IMPORTANT aspects of developing a culture within an organization.

You need to have that open line of communication where people within your team feel that they can not only come to you, but actually want to come to you for advice, concerns, and so much else.

It’s that transparency that helps create an environment in which people buy into the vision you’re painting for the future of the organization.

When they can see your vision as clear as you, while feeling heard and valued, they’re actually becoming part of your culture itself, not just existing within it.

That transparency is the foundation for trust, and let me assure you, no organization can exist thrive and grow long-term if there isn’t trust.

So when you’re planning the ‘next step’ of your culture journey, make sure that you’re being complete transparent along the way.

Let your people know where you’re all headed, and work on getting there together.
