The Next Revolution In Facebook Ads?

So according to an AdExchanger report, Facebook have announced that they are undergoing tests for the Facebook Audience Network's (FAN) reach to be increased to mobile web advertising. Exciting times when people step on Google's toes.
Facebook reported that in 2015 FAN achieved a $1B annual run rate. Considering it was only implemented in October 2014 that is a mega achievement and shows that it's clearly got legs and is a real player in the game.
FAN allows advertisers to place ads on mobile apps that Facebook has partnered with through the use of the Facebook Adverts Manager interface. Utilising Facebook's data, this also allows specific targeting of user demographics that might be more difficult or costly when going direct. This is the next logical step in Facebook's massive advance into advertising, challenging Google Adsense (which currently dominates!).
New competition in an arena that is dominated by one giant is always a good thing. I personally am excited to see this rolled out to all.
