Most of the energy, two thirds, generated centrally is lost...
We are at the start of another paradigm shift - bigger than the Internet & the Web- and its going to happen fast: From expensive, rationed, energy that made us a species of energy misers, to a species of energy harvesters. All the energy we want, harvested as near as possible to where it's needed.
The Energy Paradigm Shift has Obsoleted the Assumptions that Underlie Current Models & Policy
Most policymakers don't know this yet - including that two thirds of centrally produced energy (that includes wind farms) is lost. Wasted. As a glance at this video makes plain:
But that's not all.
This paradigm shift means that all the assumptions on which current, non renewable, policy is built are now obsolete.
Internet Connections, Fax Machines, Decentralised Energy
In the 90s first people argued that fax machines were pretty useless until everyone had one. Pretty soon everyone had one. Likewise an Internet connection next. Everyone can benefit from this paradigm shift: Households, Regions, Communities Businesses - independently and together.
The fossil lobby will argue too but:

4 个月such an important bit of information here. 67% of energy produced is wasted. Localizing energy seems inevitable and the gains should be enormous.

4 个月Great stuff here! Please, this graph needs re-mapping from the end user perspective. Map the lost energy and human time and energy of extraction and transportation cradle to grave in a shell form going outward. Same style here or pizza sliced with the areas being proportional to the energy of each section. Inner slice would be the end use energy, fanned out from that slice would be the input energy. ICE example 3x waste for work out, mapped to outer slices in coax form. Then the outer layer triax, would be the extraction and transportation energy, each mapped in a fanning or contracting to show WASTAGE multipliers from the inner slice % of totals. Fractions are boring to most non-techies, but a multiplier is much easer to grasp.
