The Next Meeting – The Daily PPILL #71

Doing a good job gets you the next one, and just like that, the purpose of every meeting should be at least to get the next one.
The therapist always books the next session right away and we always talk about the next one at the end of a date.
Every meeting with a customer is an opportunity to discover something where they can use more help. That, will get you the next meeting.
Getting the next meeting may not feel like a lot a progress, but it is always better than shutting down the conversation. As long as there is a next meeting, there is possibility, and there is something to look forward.
The next meeting may also not be next week, not even next month, it will be when your counterpart is ready, but is still the next meeting.
So go ahead, make this meeting as effective as you can. Take minutes, and make sure everybody understands their action points. Also, try to make it short. End it. But before that, agree on the next meeting and keep the infinite game going.
