The Next Level

The Next Level

Last year, David McQueen and I stepped out and went on a long holiday together for a loved one's wedding. It was one of the most glorious wedding weekends I’ve ever been on for a number of reasons.

1. It was in the Philippines

2. We went for 15 days

3. We went without the kids

4. It was for and planned by one of the most wonderful couples. 82 people going to the Philippines for a weekend wedding tells you a lot about the fabulous people they are.

Without realising it this was the beginning of our next lives.

One where it’s all about us.

Where we are able to travel in a way we couldn’t before, build our businesses to the next level and beyond and experience a level of freedom neither of us has ever had.

Growing up we were deeply religious based on our upbringing and that came with many limitations. With family, each of us was impacted by what they thought and lived often on other people's terms rather than our own.

Bringing up children we decided that we would prioritise that we were around for them; sports days, concerts, netball, gym club, parents evenings, pickups and drop-offs and so much more. For us, that impacted how much we could do in business as we agreed that at least one of us must be around at all times.

We made sure that we were around for our kids and now they are literally out the door... it’s our time.

Everything we have been through, every hard time, challenge, joy, struggle, fall and step up has brought us here.

Whilst this is fabulous it also comes with turmoil about the next steps. So now we are working on living our best life and how we want to do that. That’s why I’ve been a little quiet on here. I’m taking my time to consider what that means, what the next decades can offer and how I want to show up (as the young people would say.) Living life on my terms means taking the time to plan it the way I want it.

I'm excited, even if I am challenged and I can't wait.

I know that with him by my side and by taking my time and planning, it can only be an amazing journey.
