Next Level AI Chatbot, BARD: A Battle Against the Mighty ChatGPT

Next Level AI Chatbot, BARD: A Battle Against the Mighty ChatGPT

After the introduction of ChatGPT Version 3, it disrupted the internet and its users worldwide, and it was seen as a major rival to Google Search. Microsoft, on the other hand, has already integrated ChatGPT into its Bing search.

Google has now stepped up its game by launching a new AI chatbot named "BARD", which is based on the Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA). This innovative chatbot is designed to provide high-quality responses derived from the vast knowledge of the internet and to assist users with solving complex topics. To ensure the proper and accurate functioning of this AI chatbot, Google is relying on external feedback, and is currently only accessible to trusted, tested users.

"Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of our large language models," wrote Sundar Pichai in a blog.

Google has designed BARD to run on the lightweight platform of LaMDA so that a maximum number of people can benefit from it simultaneously.

The tech giant has big plans for the future of AI and is now planning to introduce approximately 20 new AI-based products, with the aim of demonstrating a chatbot-powered version of its search engine. These new products will be unveiled in May 2023 at Google's annual company conference, and they may include the Image Generation Studio, which creates and edits images, and a third version of AI Test Kitchen, an experimental app for testing product prototypes.

However, the most intriguing aspect of Google's plans to further integrate AI into its business will be how it plans to improve its search engine using the same technology that underpins LaMDA and ChatGPT. Many experts believe that the company will take a gradual approach, slowly enhancing its search engine instead of overhauling it all at once.

Careful balancing is indeed the need of the hour between using human intellect & AI intelligence. That time has arrived, where it can be rightly said that, "if you want to remain wise, stop relying on the machine as much as possible because technology has surpassed or soon going to surpass the thin line of difference between the two.

Pakhi G. Wonderfully articulated. Silicon Valley is indeed one of the hottest business beds at the moment. It is quite a battle between Microsoft (Lead investor for Open AI and ChatGPT) and Google. These are interesting developments. Let's wait for the dust to settle and then something concrete may emerge for the larger benefit of all of us. Best wishes to WFN.
