You might be wondering what lies ahead of you with this LEGO simulation meetup taking place on Wednesday 12th April at Delta Financial Birmingham. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, you can do so here.
This isn’t my first time at one of these things, I have actually been along to two previous meetups with Leigh White leading a LEGO scrum simulation at Agile Nottingham, and I can honestly say that it’s one of the most fun evenings for anyone working in Scrum teams currently, even those who just want to learn more about Agile thinking.
It’s not just that you get to play with LEGO (although, it’s nice to have an excuse), It’s also a really interactive way of learning a thing of two about Agile thinking and the Scrum framework.
I don’t want to give too much away before the event, as I think it was better for me going into this blind for the first time. However, to give you a bit of background; the concept was taken from the popular book - lego4scrum 3.0, which teaches the following popular agile coaching techniques:
· user story mapping
· magic estimates
· overall backlog refinement with multiple teams
· joint multi-team scrum meetings
· continuous integration and deployment
Now you have the framework for what’s in store for you, if this hasn’t made you want to come along, some feedback from previous events might twist your arm…
“Fantastic meetup! It was great to see some examples of real world challenges emerge from the Lego simulation. Great job Leigh & Chris!”
“Excellent evening - very well organised and executed especially considering the large number of attendees”
“That's the first time I've played with Lego and worked in an Agile team; it was great! Thank you for a lovely evening :)”
