Next generation automotive CPU architecture
I've been working for a while on a new architecture for high-performance automotive CPUs of the type we're going to need in the next generation of in-car electronics architectures. I've looked to history: this is a shift in embedded systems silicon akin to the CISC/RISC revolution of the 1980s because today's high-performance CPU designs have gone down a path that's a dead end for embedded systems.
I've also looked to history for an alternative architecture and it comes from the same era: the Transputer. With today's tools and technology (like RISC-V) I think this is viable. My blog post (with link to the white paper) on this topic is here:
