The next chapter - and the power of Linked-In!

The next chapter - and the power of Linked-In!

Having taken a punt and left my last role without a job to go to, I have been blown away by the offers that have come my way.

As the observant (surely that's all of you!) will have noted, I have taken up a part time role with the fantastic charity, Swim England. As the national governing body for swimming, the charity reaches out to people from a variety of backgrounds and strives to make this wonderful sport/pastime/hobby safer for all - including potentially life-saving advice for those who may swim outdoors.

Last week, it was also confirmed that I will be providing fundraising advice to a brilliant zoo/conservation centre very close to home - as well as supporting the work of a local charity which is seeking to tackle food poverty in Coventry.

On the side, I also hope to offer some gratis advice to the fund that has been set up in memory of Mo Mowlam. So it is, as my friends from Kerry always said, "all go!"

But the price of fish and this article, I hear you cry; what is the link? Well it's an un-sponsored word-up for Linked-In to be candid. The opportunities above (and those with bidding cities) came about through a number of circuitous routes, not least the endorsements provided by LI contacts to their own links.

So, in all that you do aim for excellence and maintain your integrity, you will be surprised how many people will be watching and, ultimately, serve as the best referees you could ever wish for.

I had a similar experience when I finished my full time role last December.
