The Next Chapter… Communication, Collaboration and Connectedness

After seventeen years wonderful, knowledge enriching years, it is time to transition out of the big four and move into the world of tech industry. Technology is driving social, economic, environmental and cultural shifts that will significantly change the world of work. It’s because of these exciting shifts that I have decided to make the move from consulting to the technology industry.

Strategy consulting has been a hugely rewarding experience which has enabled me to be part of some ground-breaking transformation and public sector reform work around the world. The breadth of experience that I have gained throughout my time in PwC and EY have enabled me to develop a vast network of consultants (both more junior and senior – go reverse mentoring!) and client mentors. Each of you have readily shared your wisdom and I will be eternally grateful to you.

My time with PwC New Zealand will always hold a special place in my consulting journey. The core focus was always to deliver purpose-led programmes and in typical Kiwiana style, nurturing enduring client relationships. To this day, many of PwC’s NZ clients have become my closest friends and best teachers.

This September marks the start of a new chapter as I am embark to work with some truly inspirational technology leaders. I am delighted to be joining the dynamic team in Dell EMC technologies as an Associate. I am thrilled to see them being called out as one of LinkedIn’s best employers.

I am also looking forward to working closely with my friends from Blurrt on social strategy and linking it to business outcomes. The mix between social science, data and technology continues to improve how organisations engage with customers in a more personalised and targeted way.

My passion for digital engagement and social platforms will continue to expand. I will support clients with their use of social to drive growth in the consumer to business, business to business and the business to consumer markets. I believe there is a pivotal role to be played here which is to orchestrate this collaboration to enable business outcomes.

I plan to continue to champion diverse and inclusive workplaces and to drive the agenda on the future of work and the greater representation of women in STEM sectors.

This post is intended to give thanks to all the wonderful teachers that I have had. I will be forever grateful to my mentor and friends who include Emer Coleman, Jonathan Reichental, Phil Royal, John Hancock, David Mc Gee, Andy Woodfield, Mona Bitar and Fiona Capstick. To all those clients who I have worked for and who have shared invaluable insights, often reminding me about the importance of humility and listening. Thank you Maria Robertson, Piyumali Perera and Mark Montgomerie.

Finally, thank you to the wonderful team at LinkedIn and the EY global alliance team.

Communication, collaboration and connectedness.

If you are seeking to bridge the gap between behavioural science, data and technology, let’s connect. If you are looking for fresh insights or support on growth strategies, my focus areas include:

1. New business model transformation;

2. Digital and social strategies;

3. Establishing strategic partnerships.

It’s all about communication, collaboration and connectedness.

Carpe Diem and the #FutureofWork
