The Next Chapter. Bring it!

This is only my 2nd blog I’ve written. The first one was back a couple of years ago called “Our Team - More than synergy, support & fun!” The blog focused on the success of our Central team coming from a place of leadership, communication and collaboration. As I turn the page to my next “gig,” I feel blessed that a lot of my team will be a part of the next chapter. These are exciting times to be able to start fresh with a new company and yet, still be able to have our strong leadership in place, along with historical team communication cadence and collaboration.
Next chapters can be tricky. I’m the newbie coming into the story. I will have some new teammates, new processes, and a new culture to navigate and understand. But with any changes in life, I choose to boldly embrace with wonder, positivity and energy. This disposition isn’t easy and can leave someone vulnerable. However, whatever waits in front of us, choosing perseverance over fear, can only lead to success – no matter if there’s failure along the way.
Angela Lee Duckworth presented a Ted Talk on “Grit” and having a “Growth Mindset.” It got me thinking about the phrase, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” I never want to be the old dog! I always want to be evolving and learning in life. Sometimes bad experiences can make us too vulnerable to be open to learning because we don’t want failure. I love that Ms Duckworth positions failure as an avenue for our minds to grow. Pretty cool! I encourage folks to take a listen to this Ted Talk.
So, (such a Minnesotan way to start a sentence!) I will choose to embrace the next chapter with wonder, positivity and energy and seek to contribute to the greater cause, the team and perhaps even learn along the way. Cheers to the next chapter!
