Next challenging assignment...

I am both humbled and excited to tackle my latest challenging assignment here at FEMA to serve as the Interim Executive Director of our new Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) within the Office of the Administrator. This is a six-month special assignment to lead the effort to establish the office. OPR's mission is to ensure expeditious, fair, and objective follow-up and resolution of allegations of misconduct. I deeply appreciate the confidence in my executive skills expressed by Administrator Long and Deputy Administrator Gaynor in selecting me to lead one of FEMA's signature initiatives.  As Interim Executive Director, I will lead our efforts to establish a five-year program plan that will guide the creation and maturation of the office as well as to review FEMA’s approach to the intake, management, and resolution of allegations of misconduct, including allegations of sexual harassment, and to provide recommendations to the Administrator regarding the scope, mission, and resources required for an effective program here in FEMA. I hope to leave a positive lasting mark on FEMA through my efforts in establishing OPR.
