In my previous article - The first 5 lessons learned - I mentioned my reasons for creating WinGravity. At that time, I thought the only reason was to remove the “what if” in my life. Since then, I’ve discovered another 3 powerful reasons and I’m happy to share them with you: to be able to choose the people I want to work with, to challenge myself by jumping into things I've never done before and to wake up driven and motivated to do things that I love and I’m brilliant at.
Lesson 6: Define what’s your "unique selling proposition" (USP)
Be ready to respond to this question because this is what makes your business stand out from the crowd and tells your potential customers what is special about you. It takes some hard soul-searching and creativity to define it, but it’s not impossible. My advice to you is: Don't get discouraged! A successful business is not all about having a unique product or service. You can succeed even in a market filled with similar items. It's all about your ability to make your product or service stand out. WinGravity differentiates from the other international software companies because I’m the Technology Interpreter?. This is WinGravity’s USP! Instead of playing a game I couldn’t win, I changed the game according to my personality/work experience and put a personal stamp on all the aspects of my business. That means there's no direct competition after all, since it’s only one me.
Lesson 7: No matter what happens don’t forget to remain humble and kind
Usually, when you are humble in business, the others perceive you as being weak. That’s not true! Humility is the key to success. Having this ability, you build and retain sustainable business relationships. I totally agree that being a confident person helps, but being overconfident makes you a jerk. Be ready to encounter some overconfident persons in this journey, while keeping your calm. I use the “Kill Them with Kindness” technique. Again, “kindness”, just like “humility” gets overlooked as a sign of weakness. I’m not saying to be too nice, but a little kindness will make a difference and the others will like you more. Furthermore, please stop saying “thanks” to other business professionals because that means you are underestimating the value of “thank you.” (Thank you, Mom and Dad, for teaching that!). We’re all going through this amazing journey together, so please don’t forget to be kind. Treat others with respect and kindness because this is how you want to be treated, right?
Lesson 8: Move peacefully from one task to another with calm energy
For the first time in my life, I’m dealing with really tough situations. Stress, deadlines, the fact that I’m playing multiple roles and the unpredictability for the upcoming months. All this started to get me mentally and emotionally. Remaining calm in these situations is a big challenge, but it’s very important because it helped me to detach myself from what's going on. Stressing out about the situation you’re in won’t do any good because you’re already in it, so just let it go and be grateful for your achievements no matter how small or big there are. Grateful people not only seek out more successes but they draw success into their lives. No matter what I do, I always end up saying: “I’m glad…” or “I’m thankful…”. The result? I’ve seen positive changes in my health, in my business and personal relationships. Why? Because I’m happier. As simple as that.
Lesson 9: It’s up to you if you’re going to make it - “No pressure!” :)
All of us have to give a lot in order to receive something in return. To succeed you have to be MOTIVATED. I constantly remind myself that this is what I have always wanted to do. I am responsible for the success of WinGravity and it’s up to me to accept this mission and take action. Try to learn as much as you can from your mistakes, take ACTION, and keep going, otherwise, you won’t get any results and you will never get to where you want to be. Look around you and you will be surprised how many great people are out there that could inspire and fuel your energy. Always surround yourself with successful business professionals, and every step on the way will become an important lesson, not a disappointment.
Lesson 10: Take care of yourself - Without you, there is no business!
Hilarious right? It makes me laugh too, especially when there’s not even a single day off. There are not 5 working days, there are 7 out of 7. Until recently, my alarm was set up at 7.00 am; I usually went to bed at 11.00 pm and counted sheep until 12.00 pm. Now, I’m still waking up at 7 am but I work only until 6 pm. After 6 pm I don’t do anything that is business related and I focus only on the fun and cool stuff. I slowed down, simplified tasks/ goals and committed to less instead of doing simply for the sake of it. Why? Because I’ve started to get sick and over tired. After taking these measures, I'm more efficient, productive and happy. There is only one “me” and I have to take care of myself. Without me, there is no business! So, rest up and take a break whenever you need to, because being a business owner is hard enough, don’t make it harder.
We can quit things, but what we can’t quit is fighting for our dreams. So, if being an entrepreneur is what you really, truly, truly want, please don't give up and you will discover that all these continuous challenges are forcing you to become a better version of you and do greater things.
If I’m enjoying it? Of course, even more, than I was while writing my previous article. Still no rainbows, unicorns and butterflies, or at least not yet, but I’m proud of my achievements and I'm ready to put all these well-learned lessons into action for great success.
The next 5 lessons will be about my first business trip and I’m super excited to share this new experience with you through 5 more learned lessons.

7 年Great lessons Corina. Having the #1 product in the US & Canada for skincare makes it tougher and easier to sell now. When you become the best it seems you gain more haters. You need to work harder and build more trust showing that these products work. To help ease ones mind we have a 60 day money back guarantee even if the product is empty. One task the company is going through is changing our websites. Let's just say have been a lot of IT glitches the past few weeks that they have resorted back to the old one so they can get the kinks out. I have seen a lot of consultants complain but as I explained to the 101 people on our team why get mad and angry over something you can control. If you have an open mindset and stay focused you still can build your team, sell products, check in with customers, read that motivational book you have been putting off, and even work the kinks out of your own business. Maybe you need to change up your language in your messages if your not getting responses. Focus on helping you and make the positives within yourself and it will all work out. And that's exactly what is going on even as corporate is making it right. They are doing amazing things for consultants and customers by making it right!
