Investment comment – January 2025
Like NASA’s Parker Solar Probe, which made history by surviving a spacecraft’s closest-ever solar encounter, financial markets also broke some records during Q4 2024, with the Nasdaq and S&P 500 indices reaching all-time closing highs on 6 December. However, market participants felt the heat at times too, notably in mid-December when attention turned to an increasingly hawkish Federal Reserve.?
