A Newsy Newsletter

I have news! I have news!

I've been a busy bee over the past few months and figure it's about time that I let people know what I'm up to and where you can find me and my content.

I have been a guest on two podcasts so far this year and they were so fun. And it's easy when you're being interviewed by exceptional interviewers.?

Check out How Communication Affects the Outcomes of Quality Activities on my Greenlight Guru chat with Etienne Nichols ??? .

And my interesting conversation about The Power of Clear Communication, 3 Writing Tips, and Creating a Quality Culture on my Life Sciences 360 interview with Harsh Thakkar owner of Qualtivate.

I’ve also been speaking at various ASQ events - always about Communication Skills for Quality Professionals or Building a Quality Culture - and truth be told, these two things can’t really be separated.? It all started with an invitation by Janet Lentz who invited me to speak at ASQ Philadelphia and has gone on to include ASQ Vermont, ASQ Delaware, ASQ Princeton, ASQ Costa Rica (in a couple of days), ASQ Houston is coming in May and ASQ Scranton is in discussions.?

These webinars are important for me to give back, but also to improve my speaking skills (I'm all about continuous improvement, too - Once a quality person, always a quality person!). And of, course, I love connecting with equally passionate “quality” types.

I absolutely would not be where I am right now without the support of people in this community. When I was first getting going a couple of years ago, Yan Kugel and Monir El Azzouzi were instrumental in getting me in front of their audiences. I will always be grateful for that.?

I’m at a funny stage of life. I’ve done the “career” thing already and this is now "just for fun". And it is!? I’m busier than I’ve ever been, but I jump out of bed (okay, maybe I just gingerly get out of bed) every day, eager to see what the day has in store for me.?

I love learning and I have learned how to do all kinds of nifty things. I’ve even figured out quite a lot of the scary tech stuff. I’ve managed to figure out how to create digital courses and things like that and have fiddled around with an ebook that looks pretty decent (Thanks, Canva!).

You can see my goodies right here.

(This can also be reached through the link on my LI profile if you want to keep your eye on it as I continue to add things over time).

Up for grabs you’ll find only a few things right now:

  • A digital mini-course: 5 Things You Can Do RIGHT NOW to Improve Your Communication
  • An ebook: How to Build a Quality Culture
  • Recordings of two of my masterclasses: Talking About Quality and Creating Effective QMS Awareness Training
  • A recording of my webinar: Building a Quality Culture

I have also been doing my own webinars and masterclasses each month and I want to keep building on that as I move forward.?

I’ve got ideas that just won’t stop and I’m often as surprised as the next person what I come up with next.?

Oh, and logos…I have added a new one. I love it!

Oh yeah…and clients…that’s how I fill my “spare” time. I’m still working with a fair number of non-native English speakers on improving their communication skills; I’m adding in more corporate work helping quality teams sort things out (from the communication, culture, and people piece end of things); and I'm working with a number of people now as more of a coach, rather than as a consultant (I’ve started the long road of getting myself certified as an ICF (International Coaching Federation) certified coach and am doing all kinds of training and getting all kinds of coaching hours under my belt as part of that process.)

And I also have a few classes of teenagers (only 3 or 4 kids in each, thank God) who are working on their English reading, writing, and thinking skills. It’s fun, but it’s early in the morning for me!?

And that is the end of my news!

Yikes! This really was all about me…but not really…because I am all about empowering others, so really this was about letting you know a bit more about what I do and how I can help.

Until next time…

Etienne Nichols ???

Connecting medical device professionals with the people, processes, and tools to build better medical devices faster | Medtech should not be this complicated ????

I love the new logo! And I have to stop and congratulate you on the sentence, "Ok, maybe I just gingerly get out of bed..." I love seemingly random personal sentences thrown in the middle of information - it's like a bolt of lightning on a dark night ??
