Rohlik Group ’s New Man in Charge

David Pavlik was announced to be Rohlik Group Groups new Chief Technology Officer starting June 1st. Following on from Ond?ej Klamt who has taken sabbatical leave after 8 years.?

The new CTO has a wealth of experience from companies such as Netflix , SpaceX and 亚马逊 . As Rohlik looks into its next phase of growth they looked to David's experience to lead the charge in technological advancements into the future.?

Veteran to Join StrongPoint

The smart retail technology company StrongPoint has pulled in an experienced Strategic Advisor, Neil McCourt . Neil McCourt has 22 years of experience working for Tesco finishing as a Retail Managing Director and Vice President for Fulfilment in Europe, where he was instrumental in setting up its grocery operations across five markets.?

With StrongPoint recently acquiring Sainsbury's as a client to provide grocery selecting technology it is easy to see what value Neil McCourt can bring.?

StrongPoint has been helping grocery retailers in the Nordics overcome challenges that are ever more apparent for retailers in the UK and other European countries, from increased labour costs to finding new ways of creating safer stores and better shopping experiences” - Neil McCourt

亚马逊 continues to enhance its tech

Recently a microhub in Belfast, Northern Ireland was opened by amazon to help aid its deliveries using e-Bikes joining more than 40 other cities in the UK.?

These hubs look to house a fleet of e-bikes that will deliver thousands of deliveries per week. This is part of a £300 million investment to electrify and decarbonise Amazon’s UK transportation network.?

Following through the trends of costumer alignment and their care for the environment, Amazon and its partners adds to its already electric fleet of 1,000 electric vehicles across the UK and Ireland and 9 fully electric heavy goods vehicles.

“Our new electric cargo bikes are part of 亚马逊 ’s commitment to reach net zero carbon across our operations by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement.” Says James Press , Senior Delivery Station manager
Continuing “This is a proud moment for our team, and great news for customers across the city who will benefit from zero emissions deliveries to their door”

The E- Commerce giants continues to be revolutionary in its growth creating massive trends to keep an eye on.

Retail Technology Show 2024, A catch up.

London Olympia took host to the Retail Technology Show April 26-27th. Over 12,500 retail professionals attended showing a 28% increase from last years numbers

400+ technology providers and innovators spread across the two exhibition halls to showcase their technology.?

Orquest, an AI based retail workforce management and scheduling system, took the crown of the RTS 2024 Innovation Awards. Other nominees included: Pricer , @Flip, Find & Order , ProGlove , ReachFive , Scaleflex , Shopopop , @ So link and @TeamworkCommerce.

The conference program showed a number of guess and speakers throughout with Craig Ash , Managing Director UK & Ireland at Swarovski speaking on Driving Sales & Engagement Through Creating A Truly Immersive In-Store Experience For Omnichannel Shoppers.?

Ozgur Karabulut , Head of Solutions at Invent Analytics gave a tech talk on “Profit-Optimising Retail Planning: How Can AI Supercharge Retail Profitability?”?

Along with Keynote Panel Discussion: How Can Retailers Maximise Transactions In 2024 Through An Effective Payment Strategy with Jeannette Copeland, Technology Director - Ann Summers , Aidan Connor, Digital Product & Data Director - @Bulk, Richard Surman, Head of Technology - @Crew Clothing and Jasper Goeman, Senior VP Sales, Europe - Nuvei .
