Newspaper in Education - The best teaching tool
Introducing 'Newspaper in education' is definitely a boon. Sacrificing ten minutes every day of my English class making students read the newspaper has definitely been worth the time spent. It benefits learners in so many ways; 1) Sharpens their thinking skills - higher order, analytical and critical .
2) Increases their interest and motivation by providing study materials relevant to their lives.
3) Helps the teacher learn new classroom techniques.
4) Helps prepare learners for state and national standardized tests.
5) And transforms them into interested, active citizens.
6) Helps in breaking the monotony of 'Predictive Syllabus'!
excellent!

9 年I couldn't agree more Kavita, excellent you bring this forward, one almost would forget the essential values of 'old fashioned' communication tools. I would like to add to also take a minute or ten to listen to a Radio (for students: a device generating sound without images, those you have to create yourselves). It will work wonders on aspects as Focus, Language processing and indeed Creativity.
