Newsletters are a powerful way to engage and share across the LinkedIn community
One of the features available to users with 'Creator Mode' rights is to publish a Newsletter. So what's the advantage of posting in a Newsletter? Basically when you publish an 'Article' in LinkedIn it goes into your timeline and your connections only discover it by scrolling through their feed. However, when you publish in a Newsletter your subscribers get notified, which increases the chances of LinkedIn users seeing and appreciating your content.
“Newsletter readership has tripled over the past year, now with more than 1.3 million daily readers.”
The Newsletter editor has recently been upgraded and it lets you format, lay out, and embed multimedia when constructing newsletters as well as allow you to add an SEO title and description for every newsletter edition.
Even more powerful is that when a LinkedIn user subscribes to a newsletter, they will now automatically follow your LinkedIn profile which also increases your follower numbers.
Furthermore, newsletter discoverability has been boosted by LinkedIn over the past year through one-click subscriptions and by including newsletters in search results.
All this means you can raise your visibility across the LinkedIn community. You could also change the "Premium Custom Button" (see my previous Newsletter posting) on your Profile to link to your Newsletter. To do this you go to 'Notifications'. under 'Manage my Network' you will see Newsletter. Click on this and you will then see three dots that you can click on to get the 'Copy link to share'.
And whenever you submit a fresh Newslleter item a good idea to promote by posting a 'Post' with a short summary and the link to your Newsletter.
Final takeaways... publish regularly, use a catchy title, share valuable content and promote your newsletter link widely.
