Updates on India Space Congress 2022 [ISC22]
ISC Participation Highlight:
SIA-India is honoured to have Dr. S Somanath, Secretary, Department of Space, and Chairman ISRO's confirmation to offer a special address at the Inaugural function of India Space Congress to be held from 26-28 Oct 2022 in New Delhi.
We are happy to announce the confirmation from Shri K. Rajaraman Chairman - DCC & Secretary Telecom to be Special Guest of Honor at the India Space Congress [ISC-22].
Shri Sanjay Jaju, Additional Secretary - Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence has also kindly consented to be Special Guest of Honor at India Space Congress [ISC-22].
Uttar Pradesh State Government extends support for the upcoming India Space Congress, 2022:
"Start in Uttar Pradesh (START-IN-UP)" is a great initiative to promote start-up culture & entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh Start-up Policy gives thrust to "START IN UP", to nurture start-up culture using INFUSE model (INcubators – FUnd of Funds – Startup Entrepreneurs).

SIA-India Meeting with ISRO and STPI:
SIA-India secretariat met Mr. Arvind Kumar, DG Software Technology parks of India, and Dr. Sudheer Kumar N, Director CBPO – ISRO, and other members from ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization to discuss establishing a CoE on Space and Technology to identify promising business ideas and various approaches of cooperation between investors and start-ups.

Delegation from Taipei Economic & Cultural Center India(TSIDA) visits SIA-India:
Dr. Chin Tsan Wang, Counsellor & Director, Science and Technology Division, and Ms. Ellie Chiang, Asst Director Taipei Economic & Cultural Center India, Science and Technology Division of National Science and Technology Council Taiwan visited Satcom Industry Association – India [SIA-India] New-Delhi to discuss and promote cooperation and collaboration between India and Taiwan Space Industries.

SIA-India and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) announce the signing of an MOU with to collaborate on Promoting Space Diplomacy, knowledge sharing, research on emerging global governance architecture, and development of an effective strategy to deal with emerging issues evolving in the Space Ecosystem in India.
RIS is a New Delhi–based autonomous policy research institute that specialises in issues related to international economic development, trade, investment and technology. RIS is envisioned as a forum for fostering effective policy dialogue and capacity-building among developing countries on global and regional economic issues. RIS is engaged across inter-governmental processes of several regional economic cooperation initiatives.

Omnispace and GateHouse SatCom have successfully modeled the performance of the 5G new radio (NR) non-terrestrial network (NTN) waveform in an NGSO environment. The Omnispace 5G NTN system, operating in low-earth orbit (LEO), will seamlessly integrate with terrestrial networks to deliver a #ubiquitous connected experience for commercial 5G smartphones and #IoT devices globally.

Mr. Anil Prakash, Director General, SIA–India said the Centre is evaluating how users can get easy access to satellite connectivity, which is akin to Apple's feature on its latest iphone14
"At present, any use of satellite connectivity in the consumer space is governed by the Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) clause under the Department of Telecommunications, which an individual needs to follow to subscribe to satellite connectivity services in India."?he said.

SIA-India Participation at IAC and 27th UNOOSA Workshop
SIA-India participated at the 73 International Astronautical Congress in Paris. Hosted by the French space agency CNES, IAC 2022 with motto "Space for all" has attracted more than 6,500 participants from more than 80 countries.
SIA-India is amongst the Indian delegation at the 29th Workshop on Space Technology for Socio-Economic Benefits: "Access to Space for All: Bridging the Space Divide" conducted in partnership with the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Paris, France, 16-17 September 2022, in conjunction with the 73rd International Astronautical Congress [IAC].
India's relations in the space sector can improve exponentially by extending cooperation and opening its doors to Europe, Middle East and Asian countries. Governments' diplomatic efforts will complement government intervention and enable private players, MSMEs, and start-ups to be strategic partners to the countries.
