News Nathan Claire launches updated DT Edge application
In response to market direction and clientele feedback, Nathan Claire has released an updated version of its popular DT Edge application, with new features such audits of the performance of entire technology ecosystems.
DT Edge is an on-premise platform that leverages on the wealth of data captured by application performance monitoring solutions as well as data residing in disparate databases within a client’s environment to provide you with OOTB and custom business-focused reports and dashboards, as well as performance indices and calls to action (operational intelligence). The calls to action include lists of frustrated customers or customer segments, most common root cause of technology failures, under-utilized investments, applications that are costly to maintain, under performing teams or developers, worst performing vendors or partners, technical areas where training or hiring is required.
With this, the IT leadership of organizations can decide and manage their team’s performance by relying on objective, provable and actionable intelligence.

Nathan Claire expands into Chaos Engineering
Nathan has launched its Chaos Engineering service, a new but necessary discipline to boost Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) in today’s sophisticated and even complex technology environments. Nathan Claire’s subject matter experts will work with clients to build resilience and reliability into their environment thereby protecting it against chaos. Scenarios will be designed and executed to see what will actually happen if critical components (production servers, services, processes, connections or even your disaster recovery systems) break for any reason including high loads. Tests can be halted or rolled back safely and automatically.
Rather than building failsafe mechanisms around what they think will happen, SRE teams can see what actually happens when something breaks, and then build precise failsafe mechanisms such as code-based fixes, scaling of compute or storage, restarting a service, etc. Auto-remediation using orchestration tools can also be built into SRE. and the final result is a hardened environment, optimizing costs, service delivery, transaction processing and customer satisfaction.
New takers for Dynatrace Application Security
Two of the largest banks in Middle Africa have decided to implement Dynatrace’s new Application Security (App Sec) functionality.
The extensive and unavoidable use of open-source libraries in modern applications expose organizations to hundreds of vulnerabilities which cannot be assessed using by IT Sec teams manually or using traditional security systems. Leveraging the Dynatrace OneAgent capabilities, Dynatrace App SEC uses AI to identify and evaluate all threats, pinpoint vulnerabilities that need immediate investigation. It automatically analyzes data access paths and production execution to provide an automatic and precise risk and impact assessment, and blocks attacks in real-time. ?
With App Sec, the banks can detect and block common attacks on application layer vulnerabilities, like SQL injection, command injection, and JNDI attacks, and have AI-powered protection against some critical zero-day attack types, like those for Log4Shell, while the vulnerability is being remediated. App Sec will be plugged into existing tools and processes to intelligently automate the creation, assignment, and resolution of vulnerability tickets by IT Sec. DevOps teams will also benefit from Dynatrace’s ability to automatically validate if critical application vulnerabilities are fixed before they are released to production.
Both projects are expected to be completed within a week from commencement.
