Founder @ Samotics, the leading observability platform for hard-to-reach assets
Hello!
We’ve spent our time wisely, building out the platform, developing client applications, running POC’s and spending time correcting our many, many mistakes. The good news: It’s starting to pay off! The bad news: It’s been three months since our last update. Perhaps that’s even better news to you! One of our key insights is that we have been focusing on too many parts of the value chain. When we started out, our goal was to be in control of the entire chain from sensors/data collection, machine learning, to presenting the information in an amazing user interface. That changed when we realized that we are at our best when we do what we do best: Developing, maintaining and tuning machine learning algorithms. For our business, it means that we are focusing on being the math guys that add a layer of intelligence to inputs provided by our partners and clients. It also means that we’ll keep our user interface light-weight: It’ll show the essential bits, but not much more. The paradigm is simple: connect your data, we’ll start learning and provide you with foresight into when & why equipment fails. From a development point of view, our platform is now ready to ingest sensor, control and other sources of data both in batches and real-time from a growing number of different sources. Once we’ve received data, we’ll start learning and can provide foresight within a matter of days (provided a lot of stuff, but you get the point). The foresight itself is presented via a connection into an application of choice, alarms provided via email, sms or whatsapp are part of the package too. We’ll continue our quest towards zero unplanned downtime with our team of seven of the smartest people in tech – and me. If you know math wizards who are keen to join, please let them know that we are interested in getting to know them! Best regards, Simon Ps. We have been in the news! Some of it is even in print!
