Fleur van Dinteren is a master's student at Tilburg University, who is exploring the impact of crowdfunding on female entrepreneurs. If you’re a female entrepreneur with experience in crowdfunding, please consider participating! Here is Fleur’s introduction text: ?

Hello FEM-START Community,

My name is Fleur van Dinteren, and I am currently a master’s student in Strategic Management at Tilburg University. Over the next three months, I will be working on my master’s thesis, examining how difficulties in obtaining funds through crowdfunding impact the success of female entrepreneurs. I will focus on comparing mothers and non-mothers in this context.

As the crowdfunding market continues to grow, it presents an exciting opportunity for female entrepreneurs. However, many still face significant barriers. I aim to explore whether being a mother impacts the success rate of crowdfunding campaigns.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of this topic, I am seeking to conduct interviews with female entrepreneurs who have launched crowdfunding campaigns. Additionally, I will be interviewing investors to deepen my insights.

If you are a female entrepreneur who has set up a crowdfunding campaign and are open to participating in an interview, or if you know others who might fit this criteria, I would love to hear from you!

Ayanna Colden’s LA Exchange

We’re eager to share a report from our inspiring member, Ayanna Colden, CEO and Co-founder of Aroma Skincare.

Ayanna’s recent trade mission was to Los Angeles, organized by NBSO Los Angeles, the Netherlands Consulate in San Francisco, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development.

Ayanna thanks Marian Spier for the invaluable feedback on her pitch and for making this amazing opportunity possible. She participated in the Rabobank x FEM-START funding training, where she prepared her first pitch for Aroma Skincare. After the training, she discovered the LA exchange opportunity through Marian on LinkedIn.

In her report, Ayanna shares her transformative journey, reminding us that no dream is too big in the U.S. market and that sharing ambitious goals can lead to unexpected opportunities. She also emphasizes the kindness of the LA business community and the essential role of collaboration and networking.
