This Newsletter Will Look a Little Different Going Forward: What to Expect in 2025
Hi LinkedIn friends!
Happy 2025.
I've written - I believe - over 50 issues of this newsletter now and heard from many of you that you enjoy and appreciate the content, which has ranged from patient education to how to ethically market services to patients to SEO for healthcare providers and much, much more.
And I enjoy and appreciate your engagement with it so much!
If you're wondering if the name of this newsletter changed or you've just lost it, fear not: it's not you, it's me.
As the title announced, I'm shaking things up with the LinkedIn newsletter this year. I'm loathe to leave 1,000+ of you hanging, so that's not what I'm going to do. But here's how things will be changing(and a look at exactly how I used to produce content for this newsletter so you know where to go for the content you want).
How it Started
This newsletter used to be called Writing Down the Questions. It started as an exploration of the complexities of marketing as a freelancer, and as my freelance career evolved into the promotional medical writing space, so did the newsletter!
In late 2023 and 2024, the content you got was republished from the blog on my website, which you can find here.
How It's Going
In 2025, I'm starting a newsletter called the Medical Writing Marketer to address a need I never anticipated as a healthcare copywriter: medical writers who need marketing services, know-how, and guidance.
In several conversations I had in 2024, a throughline was how valuable marketing services were to medical writing businesses for a few specific reasons:
-Lack of time
-Lack of comfortability with marketing writing and other types of marketing(email, SEO, social media use)
-Not knowing where to start or whose advice to take
While promotional writing is a big part of medical writing, it is often overlooked at conferences like AMWA, which I experienced firsthand this year. However, promotional writing also serves our more technical siblings - regulatory writing, CME writing, and manuscript writing - by marketing their services to potential clients and stakeholder audiences.
That's how I ended up with medical writers on my client roster.

This realization and the conversations I've had about the need for marketing know-how in the medical writing world led me to start the Medical Writing Marketer newsletter.
In 2025, this LinkedIn newsletter will serve as an "archive" for my Medical Writing Marketer newsletter and any blog posts I publish on my website, so you get all of the content you need, all in one place.
(but if you had to pick between subbing to this newsletter and my newsletter on my website, I'd ask you to sub to the newsletter directly on my website. Just saying.)
All newsletters that go out, starting on January 17th, will be published here shortly thereafter.
If you'd like to stay caught up with my blog posts or other business updates, you can always check in on my website - but I'll probably include updates in those newsletters.
Please feel free to subscribe to the newsletter directly on my website or DM me if you have any questions!
Here's to an exciting, fun, and innovative 2025.
Warmly,
Camille
